Description of service(s) | Riverview High School, located in Riverview, New Brunswick, is home to just over 1,100 students in grades 9-12 and just over 100 staff members. We offer a wide range of educational opportunities for students on many different pathways to life after high school. We also have an extensive extracurricular program in athletics, arts, and community involvement. As Royals, we pride ourselves in academic and personal success whether it is in the classroom, on the stage, on the field, or out in the community. You can see Royals working hard to prepare for what comes next in life while giving back to the community through events such as the CIBC Run for the Cure and the Royal Road for Kids. As Principal, it is my privilege to work with the staff at Riverview High School to help ensure that students graduate with the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful in life, further studies, and work. We value the partnerships with parents and the community to help ensure this happens. Whether it is in the classroom, on the stage, or on the court, RHS has a lot to offer students and the community. You can see the Royals out Running for a Cure, working on collaborative projects with international partners, or contributing to the local food bank. All of these opportunities are investments in the next generation. We look forward to an excellent year with our students and invite you to provide us feedback in our work. Sincerely, - Jason Reath MISSION STATEMENT The RHS community will ensure that every student learns the skills and knowledge required for today and tomorrow. VISION All students at Riverview High School will demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for today and tomorrow. Specifically students will: -establish and follow a short term and long term plan for their current learning, continuing education, and future career; -demonstrate proficiency in essential skills, knowledge, and attitudes for courses that are graduation requirements and a part of their short term and long term plan; -productively collaborate with others; -effectively communicate, problem solve, and think critically; -engage with their community; -take ownership and responsibility for their learning and actions towards self and others; and -conduct themselves in a caring and respectful manner. VALUES To achieve our mission and vision, we will: come together, collaborate, trust, and support one another to ensure the success of all students; model appropriate behaviour and attitudes from which students can learn; employ best practices of instruction to ensure learning is relevant and engaging; use balanced assessment practices that identify the goals of learning, provide feedback to the learner and inform instruction and interventions; provide directive and systematic interventions to students; regularly communicate with students and their families about their learning and progress; |
