Description of service(s) | Dear Parents and Guardians of Magnetic Hill School On behalf of myself, Mr. Murray, our new Vice Principal, and the entire staff of Magnetic Hill School, we would like to welcome you and your children to our school community and extend sincere wishes for a successful academic year. The team at Magnetic Hill is excited to get the year under way as we begin another academic year. We hope, after a restful summer, you are ready to go as well! At Magnetic Hill School has as our mission to “develop the maximum potential of each student intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally”. However, we cannot do this without your support. In order to help each child achieve his or her potential, the shared focus of teachers, parents and students is critical. As parents you have an important role to play in your child’s education. Each moment you spend showing an interest in their work or school helps to ensure greater success. Please accept my invitation to contact your child’s teacher, or myself, at any time to discuss your child’s educational progress. Another key to success is communication. The more we are able to communicate with you, the stronger the link will be between home and school. Please use your child’s agenda to communicate with the school. We ask that you keep your phone numbers and email addresses as current as possible . A great deal of information is shared through the “School Connects” program which allows us to send information via voice and email. We encourage you to check the school website on a regular basis at http://maghill.nbed.nb.ca for dates, activities and upcoming events. Magnetic Hill has always enjoyed strong parental support as part of the school community. Needless to say we welcome parents to volunteer and participate in the life of our school. If you have any time you can offer with programs or activities at the school, I encourage you to let your child’s teacher know, or contact us at the office, so we can put your talents to use. MISSION STATEMENT Magnetic Hill School exists to meet the needs of students for effective participation in society and the preparation of values to become life-long learners and critical thinkers by striving to develop the maximum potential of each student academically, intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally. VISION More than a community, a caring family of lifelong learners. VALUES At Magnetic Hill School we believe all students can learn and continue to grow intellectually and socially. All students learn in different ways. Parents and community are important partners in the education process. Our staff has a commitment to ongoing professional development. Our school environment must be safe and respectful. We will be reflective practitioners. |
