Description & Services
Description of service(s) For almost 50 years, Bonnie Kilburn and her talented staff have been teaching dance in the greater Fredericton and surrounding areas to the young and the young at heart. Her philosophy is "there is a dancer in all of us". Bonnie's goal is to train top-notch dancers and create a positive dance experience for everyone.
Our Classes:
Tap: Tap dancing is truly unique in that dancers create their own rhythms and sounds. Tappers develop musicality, rhythm, quick thinking, and the ability to "hear" music.
Ballet: Ballet is the foundation for all types of dance. It contributes directly to the development of grace, poise, flexibility and discipline.
Jazz: Jazz is a form of dance that combines isolations, strength, coordination and style. It encompass an amazing litany of styles, including traditional jazz, modern, lyrical, theater jazz, and contemporary.
Hip Hop: This form of dance is a thrilling adventure! Hip Hop is great for dancers in search of innovative and contemporary movement, great music, and an atmosphere of safe self-expression and fun. Hip Hop is a diverse form of dance not limited to one style or technique.
Lyrical: Lyrical allows dancers to learn music interpretation through sustained extensions and expressive emotion. It is a type of dance that relies on a direct relationship between lyrics and specific dance movements.
Jazz Technique: In jazz technique, dancers focus on strengthening their bodies and improving their flexibility. Students are taught to properly position their bodies for turns, kicks, leaps, and much more.
Maritime Step Dancing: Step dancing is not like other forms of tap, clogging or Irish dancing. It is purely a unique art, and is defined as a "fast paced, rugged and energetic style of dance usually performed to traditional fiddle music and requiring limited surface movement".
