| Description of service(s) | Mission MACC’s goals are to facilitate contact and communications between persons of different cultural backgrounds. To foster harmonious relationships among all cultural groups and individuals. To raise public consciousness and acceptance of Multiculturalism, to assist newcomers to become established in the community. To act as an advocate on issues dealing with multiculturalism. Description - Settlement Services o Find Accommodations, furnishing and supplies for home o Seek medical and health care and education services for children o Give directions for purchasing amenities o Guide newcomers to other community or social services as they are required o Provide opportunities for newcomers to learn Canadian customs o Information sessions, workshops, to facilitate integration in to the community o Social events to promote ethnic diversity -English Second Language Training o Employment Language training o Distance learning o Online learning o Traditional classroom techniques o Cultural bridging activities in community o Course personalized to clients’ needs - Employment Counselling o One-on-one employment counseling to determine needs o Cover letters and resume writing o Professional portfolio development and Prior Learning Assessment and recognition o Networking o Interview practice o Job placement for qualified individuals o Connecting with employers - Community involvement and Volunteering o Program to promote newcomers feel more involved and accepted by the community o Recruit local individuals and families interested in forming friendships with newcomers o Partner with service groups to build community awareness and participation o Educational sessions are given to the community to raise awareness and acceptance of newcomers o Provide newcomers to the opportunity to be involved in the community by volunteering |

| Eligibility | Ages: 18 year(s) and up MACC's services are free to all non Canadian citizen newcomers over the age of 18 years. Settlement Services are applicable to the whole family regardless of age. |
