Description & Services
Description of service(s) General Equivalency Diploma
The Community Adult Learning Program provides learners with basic skills and knowledge needed to strengthen their literacy skills. This program also offers General Education Development (GED) test preparation and does so through an individualized, learner-centered approach in class. These Adult Learning Centres offer a range of services to ensure that the needs of adult learners are met in their own communities. The Centres provide a means for New Brunswickers to improve and upgrade their skills. The Adult Learning Centres have access to technology and the necessary resources to help clients achieve their goals.
Digital Literacy Program
In 2008 the Community Adult Learning Program (dedicated to Adult Literacy) and the Community Access Program (dedicated to basic computer training and services), were integrated into one program, renamed The Community Adult Learning Network (CALNet) and services are provided through local centres throughout the province. This integrated network is a not for profit organization that focuses on the quality of adult learning services, including computer training, literacy training and workplace training. In the Western Valley region there are five centres and a mobile digital literacy classroom offering a wide variety of services.
