Description of service(s) | Fredericton Food Bank: over 1,200 Food Hampers are picked up monthly by families in the greater Fredericton area. The current active client base consists primarily of low or fixed income individuals that need supplementary food and clothing. These families include over 3,000 individuals, 32% of whom are children. The Fredericton Food Bank also provides support to other food charities in the community and will supply smaller food banks with necessities. Contact info@greenervillage.org with any inquiries. Clothing Boutique: Affectionately named the Unique Boutique, our retail thrift shop provides quality clothing for all ages, an excellent selection of household items, books and toys. Income from the sales are used within the organization for various programs. Service users receive gift certificates and receive clothing at no cost four times a year based on family size. Our Learning Kitchen: The Greener Kitchen is a forerunner in discussions about good food, healthy eating, and the journey that food makes from seed to table. Kitchen programming includes cooking classes for our members, public specialty workshops, catering, meeting space, and private group cooking classes. Get in touch at kitchen@greenervillage.org Agricultural Program: Our program is comprised of community gardens, organic greenhouses, a native edibles garden, the Mighty Monarch butterfly program, and is the home of Fredericton's official composting demonstration. The garden program is instrumental in educating the community about the importance of local food production and the importance of eating good whole foods. Application | When you visit The Fredericton Foodbank, you will be asked for information about your income, your address and your expenditures. It is important to bring the following: Identification for all family members Proof of your current address This information is asked the first time you visit the food bank. You will not be required to bring it at each visit but we recommend that you bring a piece of identification each time. |
