Description of service(s) The Department of Social Development is one of the largest departments in the New Brunswick government. We have approximately 1,700 employees and a budget of more than $1 billion. Every day we provide more than 130,000 services, touching the lives of nearly every citizen. 
We help:

* seniors and persons with disabilities who require long-term care and nursing home services, 
* families and individuals in need of social assistance and affordable housing,
