Description of service(s) bc211 is committed to: 
 
Operating information and referral services in Greater Vancouver and British Columbia by providing information on, and referring persons to government, private or community services and resources. 
 
Provides information on and referral to community and social services, including counseling, health, financial assistance, housing, employment, education, recreation, cultural, legal services, and more.  
 
Service is funded by the United Way. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is multilingual.  
 
Also available by texting city name to 211 (8:00am to 11:00pm).  
TTY access for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing also available (8:00am-11:00pm) by dialing 604-875-0885.  
On-line Chat available (8:00am-11:00pm) at http://chat.bc211.ca/chat.html
