Cross Reference South West Solid Waste Commission
Description of service(s) The South West Solid Waste Commission (SWSWC) has an on going commitment to provide our residents with environmentally responsible and cost effective solid waste management services. 
 
**White Goods Recycling Program.** (major household electrical appliances, fridges, stoves, washers, dryers, freezers and dishwashers.) 
 
Call the South West Solid Waste Commission and have their white goods picked up from the curb, based upon a schedule of pick ups in each area of the region. There is no charge for this service. 
 
Residents of Grand Manan and White Head Island are asked to bring their appliances to the Grand Manan transfer station. McAdam residents should continue as per municipal guidelines. Call village office for details

Christmas Tree Shredding Program - (offered in January), drop-off trees to be shredded, but please do not include wreaths. Call for locations.

Bins have been set up at each school in the service region. These bins are in place on school property; therefore we ask that the public do not use them. The exception is St. George, where the public bin is located at Fundy High School. 
 
A permanent Household Hazardous Waste Depot at the Hemlock Knoll Landfill Site in Lawrence Station. This depot facilitates the disposal of hazardous items in an environmentally friendly manner, without any cost to the homeowner. This service is available every day between 8 am and 12 noon or by appointment. Call for more information.

Dates Program is Offered White Goods Pick-up operates April - October.
