| Description of service(s) | We connect patients or caregivers with fully screened and trained volunteers who have had cancer or cared with someone with cancer. Our volunteers listen, provide hope, offer encouragement and share ideas for coping. The service is easy to access throughout Canada. Call 1 888 939-3333 or email info@cis.cancer.ca and our staff will register you with the service. Our practical assistance programs help alleviate some of the everyday concerns of cancer patients and their families. Temporary breast forms and wigs and headwear are available in our district offices and select hospitals. Our Travel Assistance Program, pending eligibility, helps to offset the cost of travel for cancer treatment in and out of province.
