Description of service(s) | The Multicultural Association was formed in 1980 and was provincially-incorporated on November 8, 1984 as a charitable, non-profit, non-denomination, non-partisan Multicultural Association. Actively promotes New Brunswick’s Policy on Multiculturalism, its goals and objectives as supported by the Multicultural Act of Canada (1988), as supported by the Canadian Human Rights Act (1977) and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982). Our purpose is to work for equal treatment for citizens of all cultures, in matters of cultural expression, in matters of human rights and access to and participation in all aspects of civic life and society. Stakeholder support, facilitation and referral services in the on-going development of multicultural programming, services and initiatives throughout all sectors (business, health education and community). Multiculturalism / Human Rights Awareness & Education Policy Development Activities are actively promoted by a primary representative of the Multicultural Association of Saint John Inc. at the Local and Regional Level. Multicultural Enhanced Settlement and Orientation Services for Newcomers (Fee for Service), or as funding permits. M.A.S.J. Inc. offers a Corporate Sponsorship Program that provides an accessible opportunity for stakeholders to demonstrate better support and respect for multiculturalism and human rights.
