Description of service(s) The Fundy Region Solid Waste Commission is responsible for solid waste disposal and diversion in the Greater Saint John area, including Crane Mountain Landfill and the recycling and compost programs. The Commission is a non-profit organization governed by representatives of the municipalities and local service districts, and it is funded solely through the various tipping fees at the landfill.

Household Hazardous Waste Facility at Crane Mountain Landfill: Proper disposal of used paint, anti-freeze, gasoline, motor oil, transmission fluid, batteries, propane cylinders, tires, etc. Open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. No charge for this service. 
Computer Recycling during the months of April and September. For collection dates visit:
Hours Administrative hours: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm;  
Landfill Hours: Mon-Fri 7:30 am-5 pm; Sat 8 am-12 pm; 
Household Hazardous Waste Facility: Saturday hours: 8 am to 4:30 
Monday to Friday: 7:30 am to 7:30 pm

Tours of the Interpretive Centre are available to community groups by appointment. The Glenn Carpenter Interpretive Centre provides interactive displays on waste management, recycling, and composting to all ages.
