| Description of service(s) | The Family Resource Centre provides information, education, and resources to caregivers of children aged 6 and under, and to expectant parents by encouraging them to develop and affirm their abilities, aspirations, and potential. Provides community links through information and referrals. Supports families by providing family playgroups, parenting programs, prenatal classes for teens, crafts for moms, community kitchen, resource lending library, and personal growth for families. *Programs All programs are free of charge. Childcare and transportation support available. For Moms to Be: ~ New Born New life Prenatal Classes for women under 24years. Offering lots of info and activities. Please call 633-2182 for more information. **Emergency Diapers and Formula - Call the Centre for details. For New Moms: - Life with Baby Postnatal Classes for 1st time new moms and their babies 0 - 12 months. Please call 633-2182 for more information.. For Families: ~ Main Centre Playgroup A play place for families with children aged 6 and under. Mom, dad, grandparents, friends, and childcare providers welcomed. Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays 10 am - 12 pm. Eastside Playgroup To provide opportunities for parents, caregivers, and their children to meet in their own neighbourhood. Wednesday, Glen Falls School, 10am - 12pm. For Parents: ~Adult Library A variety of books on parenting, personal growth, and more. For Children: ~ Children's library. Offers a selection of English and French children's books, Read to your child today. ~Urban Outreach Urban Play Group: Lower Westside and Northend Saint John, this group provides opportunities for parents, caregivers, and their children to meet in their own neighbourhood. Tuesday, Seaside Park Elementary School, 10am-12pm Thursday, North End, Crescent Valley Community Centre, 10am - 12pm ~Rural Outreach Play groups for parents and children ages 6 and under, located in the following communities: Mon.,Fundy Shores,10am - 12pm, Tue.,Garnett Settlement, 10am - 12pm, Starting Wed. Feb. 10th, 2016 Nerepis Baptist Church 10am - 12pm, and Thur., Barnesville, 10am - 12pm. |
