Description of service(s) | We are an association of over 100 clubs located in 700 community service locations across Canada. Clubs are in neighbourhoods where they are most needed, in large city centres, remote rural communities and on First Nations Reserves. In each club location, trained, dedicated staff and volunteers provide children and youth, ranging in age from pre-school to young adulthood, with programs in physical recreation, technology, the arts, personal growth and more. Many clubs also provide meals, family support programs, emergency shelter and other supports to children and youth at risk. Programs are offered primarily during the after-school hours when studies have shown that young people are most vulnerable to victimization and becoming drawn into anti-social behaviours. Many clubs also offer programs during evenings and weekends. Along with our primary location on Paul Harris St, we offer programs at the South End Community Centre (located at 210 Wentworth Street) as well as after school care at Seaside Park Elementary School starting Fall 2018. |
